SAMOS VI is the sixth meeting of the Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, MOdeling, and Simulation series. The main focus is on the state-of-the-art techniques in the design of embedded systems, including mapping techniques and synthesis, processors design and implementation, architectures, systems on a chip modeling issues such as specification languages, formal models, and finally simulation, and hardware software co-design.

SAMOS is one of the few meetings that accept new state of the art research papers and it also provides space for presentation and inclusion in the conference proceedings of positional and review papers. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

  • Embedded System Level Design and Simulation
  • Multimedia, Graphics, and Signal Processors
  • Hardware Software Co-design
  • Design Space Exploration
  • Embedded Reconfigurable Processors
  • Energy Aware Processors
  • Embedded System Simulation
  • Application Specifications and Modeling for Embedded Systems
  • Processor Simulation Technologies
  • Compilers and Mapping Technologies
  • Computer Aided Design
  • Physical Design
  • Specification Languages
  • Reliable and Trustworthy Embedded Systems
  • Embedded Processors and Architectures
  • Applications of Embedded Computing Systems
  • Network-on-Chip Platforms
  • Multi Processors-on-Chip
  • Embedded Parallel Systems
  • Embedded System-on-a-Chip Implementations
  • Multithreaded Processors
  • Software Defined Radios
  • Digital Signal Processors

The meeting is composed by:

  • The International Conference for Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, MOdeling, and Simulation (IC-SAMOS) - an IEEE co-sponsored conference (pending from IEEE CAS Society); and
  • The Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, MOdeling, and Simulation (SAMOS) workshop.

The SAMOS conference and workshops have established a tradition of not only presenting new results but also bringing to the audience open challenging problems and on-the-stage requests for suggestions for solutions. In addition of considering only new innovative research, submissions of works in progress, positional, and review of the state of the art papers are also encouraged.

PROCEEDINGS: The SAMOS Workshops proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in the LNCS series. The SAMOS conference proceedings will be published in the IEEE series.

Plenary sessions are held in the mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. Afternoons are reserved for informal sessions to discuss the launched open problems. The unique format of the SAMOS conference series provides the participants with an environment where collaboration rather than competition is fostered. The SAMOS workshop has been envisioned to provide a forum where everyone is encouraged to bring up for discussion, formally or not, new and daring ideas for embedded systems.
